I've made quite a bunch of new friends here in SD. And the west coast of the US. And I've picked up a little pet; Illert, the toy ferret. 

 Here he is in LA.

I'm sure everyone has heard about the gnome that went on holiday around Europe. Well, my ferret gets to travel the world. Or will, as soon as I start moving about again. At least he got his first flying experience the other week when I went up to San Fransisco to visit a couple of friends

The weekend up in SF was loads of fun. Time just disappeared, though, so we didn't have time to do too much stuff. One of the high-lights were to visit the Google HQ. The biggest playhouse for computer geeks. That company really could teach others on how to make your staff be happy at work. Free meals, advanced coffee bars on every floor or so with free coffee and snacks. Gym, sleep pods. Solar power units here and there, complimentary bikes on the premises, beach volley ball court. Basket ball court. Probably a few other courts I didn't see. Chefs growing food in a garden. With strawberries=)

 Yup. At Google HQ. Did I mention PLAYHOUSE?

The past few weeks I've been spending quite a few weekends up in LA, with my new friend Dan. This picture is from one of our visits to a Renn Faire close to LA. 

 The bird really liked me for some reason; it so didn't want to go back to its owner. 

Otherwise, not much is happening here. Some crew changes. Chef's gone, and soon the engineer will be too. Can't say I'm crying my eyes out over that. And if I were, they would be tears of happiness. Some change definitively is good...
