I figured I should try a local custom. This particular one has its ups and downs. Didn't have to trouble myself braiding it in the morning, but when not in uniform, the pearls in the ends kept getting stuck under seatbelts and shoulder straps. I kept it for a week, so now I'm back to my old self again. But it was fun being a hippie (or maybe rag-flapper;) for a week. =)

91 Movies. And I'm sure Erika has seen loads more than me. We just haven't got the same taste, obviously, as she got less on this test... But what are you supposed to do when you're tuck on watch on a boat and have nothing more fun to do?=)

Today we've had the day off, and I've spent it shopping up parts of my tip from the charter in Philipsburgh. I bought the new iPod Nano (black one), Mary Jean sunnies (apparently they're supposedly among the best on the market for seafarers, they look nice on me, feel good and got the right colour, so I'm happy=), found opal earrings to go with a pendant and bracelet I got for xmas last year, two pairs of shoes I've actually got a need for and some other small stuff. I didn't have time for looking at clothes, but I have to have smth left to do fri-mon since we're having them off as well (I'm on watch sat, but I've got fri and monday left for shopping, don't know how much is open on Sundays as it is heavily influenced by France over here...)

Maybe I've got a date on Friday - found a cute guy here at a disco last night that's here until Sat or so. Hope he's interested. Otherwise he was just being polite. Oh well, if you don't try to go for it you can't win=) And I won't say no to flirt a bit with a good-looking charming man...

Anyway, the charter went well, the guests didn't do much and we in the crew more or less tried to be as invisible as possible. Looking forward to the next charter, but it is going to be good to have a few days off and then get the boat into good order again (managed to get some paint damages and other stuff breaking down just before the charter). And the boat is dirty again, espec the tenders need detailing 

I'm not too sure if I like the weather too much over here. It's very warm in the sun, but get into shadow and the breeze/wind can cool you down quite a lot, and it rains quite often, preferably right after shammying the boat down, so that you have to start from the beginning again so that it can rain again when you're nearly finished etc... Get my picture?=)
 Nice water though, but I haven't seen too much of those fantastic white beaches with crystal blue water...

Now it's time to go and play with my new iPod. If I can find it among all the bags and stuff, that is=)
